In defining mental health there is an emphasis on resilience. Resilience refers to the ability to adapt to stress and adversity. In recent years, due to its potential influence on health, wellbeing and quality of life, resilience has become a major focus of interest for researchers, policymakers and practitioners working in the area of mental health and wellbeing*.
