Korin Korin Balit-Djak “Growing very strong”

enliven supports the Vision (Self-determining, healthy and safe Aboriginal people and communities) and Guiding Principle (Aboriginal self-determination) of Korin Korin Balit- Djak.

There are 2, 912 people in Melbourne’s south east who identified as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in the 2016 census. This includes: 1, 616 (0.5%) people living in Casey, 780 (0.8%) people living in Cardinia, and 516 (0.5%) people living in Greater Dandenong. The community is young with nearly half the population aged under 24 years.

enliven’s work is focused on:

  • Facilitating a network of agencies working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families
  • Facilitating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Respect and Cultural Appreciation workshops
